The really winer of the race seems to be Michi (GPL disqualified him because he had a freeze it seems).

Well done!

You were gone for a short time, I thought you discoed.
Luckily you came back.

After your pitstop i tried to stay in the lead.
With 5 laps to go I spun for the 2e time and shortly later you overtake me, and I had to pit.
The tire wear was incredible, you should try it one's

Claudio, I hope it was not my fault you crashed in the beginning of the race?

Ansonnsten war es ein lustiges Rennen.
Danke Olaf für dieses Event.
Nur schade das so wenige dabei waren.

Vielleicht ja wegen Urlaubszeit.

Ich bin mal absolut ohne Training in das Event und das merkte man. Den richtigen Bremspunkt bei solchen Geschwindigkeiten zu finden war echt schwierig.

Well that was certainly an interesting race. Got my first pole ever in a race against human opponents.

Got a bad start though, most likely to the long first and me not wanting to damage the tyres too much. Lost 2 places on the run to the first corner, but got one back in the braking zone. Claudio made a mistake in the final turn handing the lead back to me.
I wasn't sure what strategy I would use at the start of the race so during my first stint I was watching the gap to Pedro in P2 closely. That went south when timing and scoring decided I wasn't running anymore. I had to rely on Pribludas realtime gap listing. Which as you know is varying a lot over a lap. Coloring lapping cars dark red didn't help much either.
Anyway I managed to gap Pedro by 7-8 seconds over 8 laps. Not enough for a 2 stopper. He than handed me a free pitstop as he lost about half a minute. That was just enough time to change tyres and come out right around him on the track.
Well I botched the pit entry on the stop and run wide missed the board, backed up (too much) and sat in the pits for 30s and decided to go around again.
Pedro was 10s further along the road and I caught back up to him despite the worn rubber. I figured he was running a one stopper and I would stay close to him and visit the pits the same time as him.
Alas that was not the case as the halfway mark passed with Pedro making no attempt to enter the pits. Around 10 laps to go I spun in the last corner and figured I'd be safer getting fresh tyres so to finish the race.
After the stop I was ~40s behind Pedro though catching him fast. He made a mistake and lost about 15s and I was soon on to him and went by going out of the last corner.
I'm not sure I'd won if he had not made the mistake. The thing is worn tyres are not that much slower over the distance, but the chance for a mistake grows.

Anyway I enjoyed the race very much, shame for the low turnout. I really like the longer tyre wear races where you have to look at the strategy.


@Olaf Mir ist ein bug im dg5 aufgefallen. Die Bremsbalance läst sich über 100% nach vorn verstellen. Obs nach hinten auch geht hab ich nicht probiert.

I must say: In the past the long Ironman races were the first races I stopped to participate. I thought at this time it's boring and it makes no sense. I voted for two short races at one evening like in DOUBLE DASH or TEAM CUP before.
Now with tire wear, pitstops long races are my favourite races. But it should be much more than five drivers. I'm not sure what is the reason for the only five partivipant's: the hot temperatures, hollidays the Long races , ???

Tripolis have very long fuel throttle parts and less brake zones. So the rear tires will be more slippery than the front tires. So theoretically it's possible to drive fast for a long time, but it will be more and more dangerous if you do long stints. I think it is determinated by the special track, not by the new version of the patch.

There is no demarcation for brake ballance. I try to write very short programm code, so I don't need an addicional dll. I know the gpl user. To copy and past the xml file and start GEM+ is a hard job for the average GPL driver. It they have to copy and past another file to gpl Folder they .
I think unrealistic values are a disadvantageous. So I think it could be like it is.

Pitstops needs a lot of concentration. It's easy to lose a race at a pitstop. But I think it's an absolute enrichment, especially in full distance races.

Hi,

ich hatte gestern "leider" einen Grillabend
mit Familie und Nachbarn sonst wäre ich
gerne mitgefahren.

Patch ist installiert aber habe leicht den Überblick verloren, mit den möglichen Varianten
