Prologue / Prolog:

It appears that either there was some issue with the connectivity or GPL's collision detection was simply poor.
Please send me a message if an incident has been omitted here.
Incidently Walter Zweiffel has dropped out of the ranking due to huge lag. He is reinstated as 7th.

Scheint so als hätten wir an diesem Tag entweder Verbindungsprobleme gehabt oder die Kollisionsabfrage von GPL war einfach schwach.
Sendet mir eine PN, falls ein wichtiges Ereignis entgangen sein sollte.
Walter Zweiffel, den GPL wegen eines riesigen Lags aus der Wertung gekippt hat, wird als 7. gewertet.

Utter rubbish by GPL which did not record the real incident: Bastian Grupp bumping into Carsi Grelck.
Although it was damaging Grelck's race, I see this as a classical jam in Mexico's hairpin in lap 1.
Bastian has enough experience to maybe (should?) had seen the jam comming, however it appears to be an honest mistake.

Ziemlichen Schrott den GPL da produziert. Der wahre Unfall wird nämlich nicht angezeigt: Bastian Grupp dreht Carsi Grelck rum.
Auch wenn die Situation nicht sehr förderlich für Grelcks Rennen war, so tue ich die Situation als klassischen R1-Unfall in dieser Haarnadel ab.
Bastian ist zwar auch schon so erfahren, dass er einen Stau hätte erwarten können (/sollen/müssen?), aber es scheint mir hier um einen unschuldigen Fehler zu handeln.

Casula's Cooper exits T4 a bit better than Grupp's Honda and so he's *testing* if he can engineer a pass before the hairpin.
He's realizing that a safe pass *prior* to the hairpin is uncertain and so he intends to relocate behind Grupp such as to signal "Don't worry, I'm not trying to pass. Just drive the hairpin swift and sound."
However, in the meantime Grelck has catched up and so Casula prefers to stay put in order to prevent an accordiom effect but also to signal "Nope, there is *no* gap for a crazy passing maneuvre, please."
And so he's braking for the turn but surprisingly (20km/h lower top speed than usual plus conservative approach in general) the car does not decelerate sufficiently. He clashes into Grupp and Grelck runs into the two. Casula feels sorry..!

Casula kommt mit dem Cooper etwas besser aus T4 raus als Grupp im Honda und setzt *probeweise* zu einem Überholmanöver an.
Während des Prozesses sieht er aber, dass ein sicheres überholen noch *vor* der Haarnadel nicht gewährleistet ist und will sich hinter Grupp einfädeln um zu signalisieren: "Keine Angst, ich überhole nicht. Fahre bitte ganz normal und zügig durch die Haarnadel."
Zwischenzeitlich hat aber Grelck aufgeschlossen, so dass Casula lieber versetzt bleibt, um einerseits einen Akkordeoneffekt zu verhindern und um andererseits zu signalisieren: "Nein, hier innen ist *keine* Lücke für ein verrücktes Überholmanöver, ja?"
Er bremst die Haarnadel an, aber es gelingt ihm überraschenderweise nicht (20 km/h Spitzengeschwindigkeit langsamer als normal plus überhaupt konservative Herangehensweise), seinen Wagen stark genug zu entschleunigen. Er kollidiert mit Grupp und Grelck läuft auf. Casula tut das ganze Leid..!

A classical post-hairpin incident in Mexico.
There are several pros and cons for either driver. At any rate both put effort in respecting the opponent's space, hence:
(Adnan unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time)

Klassischer Unfall nach der Haarnadel in Mexico.
Es spricht einiges für und wider bei beiden Fahrern. Auf jeden Fall geben sich beide Mühe, dem Gegner genügend Raum zu lassen. Daher:

Grupp spins his Honda in T4 and then facing opposite driving direction but recovers in an "altruistic" fashion. Well done.
GPL registers contacts -> nothing happened

Grupp dreht sich in T4 und steht dann in entgegengesetzter Fahrtrichtung. Er löst das Problem aber auf "altruistische" Art und Weise. Gut gemacht.
GPL registriert Berührungen -> nichts passiert

Final lap. Wilhelm is being passed by Mace on the outside short of T1. Within the turn Wilhelm is spotting a gap on the inside and attempts a counter attack.
In the process he slides into the flank of Mace.

Letzte Runde. Kurz vor T1 zieht Mace aussen an Wilhelm vorbei. Innerhalb der Kurve macht Wilhelm innen eine Lücke für einen Gegenangriff aus.
Dabei rutscht er in die Seite von Mace.

Funny. Both have already reached the checkered flag. Since in lap 12 GPL has stopped counting the race of Walter, this post-race-incident is somehow being recorded.

Lustig. Beide haben die Zielflagge bereits erreicht. Da GPL ab Runde 12 aber Walter aus der Wertung gekippt hat, wird diese Post-Race-Kollision aus irgendeinem Grund aufgezeichnet.

Thanks for Reko Fab , very fast too ;-).

The race was very interesting from my seat , I lifted in T1 from the start when a car was on the wall infront , someone came through fast on my inside and we touched , quite scary .... the next 3 laps I pretty much stopped in the hairpin to avoid the jams , then I was behind Bastian trying to fight the Honda speed with the Cooper handling ... eventually after a small collision I made it through .... too late to challenge Carsi although I nearly caught the tail of 3 cars on the last laps ...... .bad result, good fun
