Bei der Überrundung in T1 kommt es zwischen Mace (innen) und Casula (Außenbahn) zu einem leichten Kontakt.
In der Runde zuvor wechselte die Führung von Bentley auf Mace. Es hat den Anschein, dass Mace bei der nun anstehenden Überrundung, sowenig Zeit wie möglich verlieren will. Beim Überqueren von Start/Ziel beträgt sein Rückstand auf Casula etwa drei Wagenlängen. Eingangs Kurve 1 geht Mace viel Risiko, bremst spät und taucht tief neben Casulas Cooper, der jedoch zeitgleich wie Mace einlenkt und Richtung Scheitelpunkt driftet. Obwohl Mace die innere Linie halten kann kommt es zu einer leichten Berührung, Mace erleidet einen üblen Quersteher; beide Fahrzeuge überstehen die Kollision ohne Schaden und können ihr Rennen fortsetzen.
Maces überraschender Überrundungsversuch kam für Casula recht unerwartet. Andererseit, sprechen die EOLC Reglen eine recht deutliche Sprache, wie man sich als Überrundeter zu verhalten hat.
5.10 …. Fahrer, die überrundet werden oder umständehalber deutlich langsamer sind, weil sie z.B. einen technischen Defekt haben, müssen schnelleren Wagen die Vorfahrt lassen….

Verwarnung Casula

Setting of drama: turn 1 - Mace (inside) tries to put Casula (outside) one lap down, both cars made a slight contact.
Prior to this Mace took the lead from Bentley. Now it seems that Mace wants to loose a minimum on time the upcoming lapping. At the start/finish-line he’s about three car lengths behind Casula. As he (Mace) enters turn 1 he dives deep down aside Casula’s Cooper, who had committed to turn in at about the same time as Mace had and heads towards the apex on his part. Even though Mace is able to stay down the inside some minor contact occurs and Mace suffers a very nasty slide; both cars withstand the collision without any damage and can continue.
Casula is going one lap down and EOLC rules clearly indicate how to behave, when getting lapped:
5.10 ... if a much faster driver approaches you should let him pass, e.g. when you are lapped or when you are slower because of a technical problem. Intentional or repeated offences will lead at least to a disqualification...
But on the contrary, Mace was some car lengths behind and caught Casula by surprise.

Totally agree with the reading of your incident with Fab.

Myself, I had a great race going and maybe could of made a 1 stop work, my main problem was you guys choosing not to stop . The other problem was tooooo much fuel, after pitting I came out into a fierce battle with David and Harry .... great fun. In the end I needed another 50 laps to maybe catch you , Congrats Kelvin on a deserved win. Commiserations to Carsten, but, he seemed happy to get back out into the garden in the sunshine . Thanks to everyone else for a great racing experience.
