Thanks Pedro!

It was somehow like having sex for the first time: you know it's going to happen one day and look for it with anticipation, but when it finally happens... it was even better than you first thought!!!

Glad I made it, now off to new challenges!

Hi Pedro!

exploiting the track's width and thus accelerating earlier & braking later (aka "straightening the turns")

getting the line priority right (e.g. keeping the momentum of the long straight prior to turn 5 for as long as possible is more important than being fast on the short straight after that turn. "Slow in, fast out" doesn't apply here, I think.)

exploiting each tyre's grip by keeping the car balanced (as much 4-wheel drift as possible)

having too much time on one's hands

practice, which leads to comparisons of different lines by having other drivers around you and also to improving one's car control skills

having lots of fun
That's what springs to my mind. If that is what you were asking for.

The 1:30.914 I posted on the forums was a bit better in many turns, except for the mistake in the penultimate corner which sort of spoiled the whole lap.
That 30.857 lap wasn't spot-on either (missing the apex in T5, for example), but it turned out faster overall.

Kind regards,
Carsten

I took Carsten's advice one step further and fortunately managed to miss all apexes.
But I couldn't improve times

Hehe, at first I didn't get that one

I should reword the last key point: "Enjoy it when you get one of the aforementioned things right"

Hey Pedro,

you've got a total rank. Don't you think that qualifies you for "Having too much time on your hands"?

Kind regards,
Carsten

Sorry to here that K-J

I took the Lotus to Silverstone.
Change a few things in the setup I liked/learned this year (les "too in");
load Carstens advise in to my memory;
start the car (and find Manfred at the track (like always)) and then..........and then.........and then a new PB !!!!!
A few laps later another one, and later again another one!

Carsten I have realy felt what you ment!
"Slow in, fast out"
"as much 4-wheel drift as possible"
"straightening the turns"

Ok, we all know that.
But now the master of, no The Joda of GPL has spoken, I am a beleaver to

The same thing happened to me after Steffen had posted his suggestions on how to drive fast. That was prior to Mosport, I think.

But wait... Did anyone say Yoda?

No need to, Pedro ... it was just a joke on Yoda's last sentence in his post.

Thanks a lot!

The first lap I had sent in wasn't accepted (they said I had touched the wall and I had got slipstream from Pedro), so I was forced to have another go.
In the end, it turned out to be even quicker
